Lucent vs Atlassian Statuspage
Statuspage is cheap to start and genuinely good. The case for Lucent isn't that Statuspage is expensive — it's that a status page is one of four bills you're paying to answer the same question.

Where Atlassian Statuspage is better
- A free tier that is genuinely usable for a small public page
- Mature, battle-tested, and trusted by companies your customers recognise
- Deep Atlassian integration if you already live in Jira and Opsgenie
- Nothing to operate — it is somebody else's uptime problem, which is the point of a status page
Where Lucent is better
- Status is not a separate bill — it comes with the observability you already need
- The status page is fed by the same uptime probes that page your team, so it can't drift out of sync
- Runs on your domain with no third-party script or vendor dependency
- Flat cost as your team grows; Statuspage's tiers are gated on team members
So which one
Choose Atlassian Statuspage if…
Choose Statuspage if you want a status page and nothing else, especially on their free tier — and if you want it hosted somewhere that stays up when your own infrastructure doesn't. That last point is a genuine argument against self-hosting a status page, and we're not going to pretend it isn't.
Choose Lucent if…
Choose Lucent if you're already paying separately for error tracking, uptime monitoring and feature flags, and would rather have one system, one bill, and one set of events behind all of it.
